Search engine optimization should be considered a long term strategy as it can take time for web site modifications and new links to alter your rankings. If you are launching a new web site, be aware that it can take 12 months before these optimization techniques start to take effect and sometimes 18 months to fully mature to the stage where you are consistently achieving good rankings.

For this reason we recommend pay-per-click advertising as this is a good way of generating immediate traffic in the short term.
